| Why I refer to acne as "nature's four-letter word"
Acne is a disease of the pore that is incurable, resistant, and difficult to treat.
If you are struggling with acne and have tried everything available, I urge you to try ABY! Skin Care. ABY! is your first step to clearer, healthier skin. For more than 17 years, I've been formulating personalized skin care products to meet the needs of clients with all types of skin and grades of acne. From experience, I can tell you my personalized skin care programs are more effective than the "one-size-fits-all" approach. Over time, bacteria living in the pores become resistant to every medication, leaving ineffective those acne products that seemed to work for a while. Therefore, to remain effective in treating acne, it is vital to follow a personalized skin care program that offers a wide range of product strengths and options. QUESTIONS I'M FREQUENTLY ASKED
ABOUT ACNE What is acne? Acne is a skin disease in which bacteria, dead skin cells, and oil in the pores become trapped, irritating the pore and causing breakouts. Acne is not curable, but in most cases it is treatable. Acne causes pimples, cysts, pustules, and blackheads on the face, chest, neck, shoulders, and back. It can be aggravated by using the wrong cosmetics, by environmental factors, stress, and picking. Who gets acne? Acne is usually genetically predisposed and afflicts people of all age groups. Adults, as well as teens, suffer from the ravages of this potentially scarring disease. Statistics indicate that 20% of adults suffer from acne. Among women ages 20 to 40, 40-50% have a low grade of persistent acne. Of those afflicted with acne, 20% will have acne serious enough to cause scarring if not treated. Of the estimated 60 million individuals plagued with acne, only 11% seek help. Is there a cure for acne? While there is no cure for acne, there is a proven effective acne management system formulated to clear and control acne for most people. The emotional impact of acne can be minimized through a better understanding of its causes and treatments. How is acne treated? At ABY! Skin Care, we combine the proven acne medications salicylic acid with the benefits of benzoyl peroxide, glycolic, and lactic acids, and sulfur. This is a powerful blend of ingredients to help fight acne. Our ingredients are formulated to treat three components of acne: 1) Abnormal buildup of cells down in the pore (often several hundred cell layers); 2) Excess oil produced by the sebaceous glands in response to excess hormonal change and/or genetics; and, 3) Bacteria that is trapped in the congested pore. Gaining control of acne requires a commitment of consistently following the treatment program we have formulated specifically for you. About Benzoyl Peroxide, Glycolic Acid, & Sulfur Do these products really work or is this just some fad? I feel that benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, and sulfur, especially for the treatment of acne, is the most exciting development in the field of facial skin care over the past decade. This formula is a wonderful and affordable acne treatment and management program for acne sufferers. What is glycolic acid? Are there any complications using it? Glycolic acid is a byproduct of sugar cane production that is pharmaceutical grade. This fact makes it so appealing because only one in 15,000 users are reported to have an allergic reaction to it (slight redness). How does glycolic acid help in the treatment of acne? Glycolic acid removes the build-up of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin, as well as within the pore. This build-up is like rust in a pipe that traps and clogs the pores. How does benzoyl peroxide help in the treatment of acne? Benzoyl peroxide kills the bacteria that causes inflammation. It's effectiveness is determined by the strength used. There are precautions that should be taken in using this powerful product. Is there anyone who can't use glycolic acid? Individuals currently using Accutane cannot use benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, and sulfur. Those individuals must stop using Accutane for at least four weeks before using benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, and sulfur treatments. Glycolic acid and Accutane can not be used together. The only other person who should not use glycolic acid is the rare individual who is allergic to it, and that figure is a low 1 in 15,000. If you use these products and experience an allergic reaction, itching or blistering, stop the treatment immediately and call ABY! Skin Care toll free at 1-888-284-SKIN (7546). What if I have problems or questions during my benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, and sulfur treatments? No problem! Stop the treatment immediately and call ABY! Skin Care toll free at 1-888-284-SKIN (7546) or e-mail us at info@ABY!skincare.com. We will respond immediately! About the ABY! Skin Care Program How do I begin using ABY! Skin Care products, and what initial changes should I expect to see right away? When you receive your initial treatment you will also receive very specific instructions. In most cases I will ask you to use the products twice daily, morning and evening. Pretty simple! Often on initial use, patients will experience some "breaking out" and more acne and whiteheads will develop. Don't fret; this is normal. The product is doing its job dissolving old skin cells so your oil glands will begin to drain. If your face doesn't break out, don't worry. The product is still working. Dryness and flaking of the skin may occur. This is desirable; it means the program is working. How long before I will see results? You should see improvement within two weeks if the products are strong enough. Most patients definitely see improvement within a month. Six months to one year is often needed, however, to gain maximum results. No two faces are the same and no two faces will respond exactly alike, so it's difficult to predict. I can assure you, however, if you continue to use these products faithfully and keep the strengths effective, over time you will be thrilled with the results. How long will I have to use these products? The typical acne patient that we treat must use these products indefinitely. It is a daily habit of benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and sulfur treatments over an extended period of time that produces the best results. In my experience, the best results have occurred with those patients who have continued with the strength of program needed and simply made the treatment part of their daily lives. Our acne patients are so thrilled with the improvement in their complexion that they continue to use our products indefinitely. Remember, acne is controllable but not curable. It is a "long-term" disease of the skin. How long will my initial order of products last? One of the greatest advantages of ABY! Skin Care products is that only a small amount is necessary at each usage to be totally effective. If used according to directions, an initial order should last from eight to 12 weeks.
